Pendragon IV
Today Pendragon IV is just as competitive as the day she left Franklins over nine years ago.
Although Pendragon IV is a 50 footer, her concept was the basis that led to the establishment of the Transpac 52 class, an exciting and hotly contested technology loaded class. Many of the features incorporated in Pendragon IV can be seen in today's top boats, a testament to the expertise and foresight of Laurie Davidson.
From her early successes in the Rolex Big Boat series just after she was launched, to today, Pendragon IV has been a serious competitor in all local PHRF racing on the USA West coast.
Constructed from a blend of Composite fibres including Carbon fibre, Aramid and E-Glass, Pendragon IV has stood up well to the rigors of many seasons racing in the hot bed of the San Francisco harbour and off-shore scene. A tribute to her owner, the sailing team and Ian Franklin Boat Builders.
Her standing in the San Francisco racing scene is such that she was named California Yacht Club Boat of the Year 2007.
Other recent results include
2nd Class 2007 Transpac
1st in Class, 2nd Overall 2008 Corona Del Mar to Cabo San Lucas Race
1st in Class, 2008 Long Beach Race Week...
Not bad for a 9 year old boat!

Many of Franklin's long serving staff and local yachtsmen still remember her sleek good looks with her Ferrari Red hull and gold leaf graphics.
Such is the owner's commitment to the excitement that racing this type of yacht offers, that he had a new Pendragon VI built by Franklins. At 69 foot, the new Laurie Davidson designed Pendragon VI is a real weapon. See Pedragon VI
